We perform thorough pre-testing of each RAID array
we ship, which can take up to 2-3 days depending on the size and
number of drives. If your scheduling demands a less extensive

SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) Raid Models
The XI-Series SAS RAID (Serial Attached SCSI) is
based on Infortrend SAS technology. SAS provides the reliability
associated with traditional SCSI and fibre channel hard drives, with
the cost effective physical interconnect of SATA. In fact, since SAS
and SATA use the same physical interconnect, the XI-Series SAS RAID
supports both SAS and SATA hard drives in the same box.
SAS RAID is expandable!
Although SAS is a point-to-point technology, it has a "fan out"
capability built into the design that permits up to 128 hard drives
on a single "edge connector". This means that you can stack multiple
chassis together to create an economical enterprise class storage
solution. SAS cables and connectors are used to interconnect
multiple chassis, while on the front end users have the choice of
traditional fibre channel host channels, or SAS host channels to
take advantage of mother board embedded SAS ports. The XI-S12F SAS
RAID is available with a single RAID controller, or with a dual
active-active redundant controller configuration, and supports up to
4GB DDR 400 cache RAM per controller.
